So far so good.
I made a simple program just now that converts miles to kilometers. _________________ A path taken is paths forsaken.

I just question why you would chose C for that simple task. |

I didn't say practice......
And I'm too lazy to type all the plus signs. lol. And a lot of people will simply say C. And I do know theres a difference. I program as a hobby though I haven't used any version of C in a while. Its can be a pain, most people avoid it like the plague. |

I'm not sure what you meant by that first statement. I was using a simple program like that to practice with C++ and get familar with the syntax.
I don't know about most people avoiding C, I haven't had any problems with it. Most of my errors stem from simple typos. After all, I'm learning C at school, C++ in my spare time. _________________ A path taken is paths forsaken.

Finding the typos is a pain in the arse sometimes though and oh okay. sorry didn't realize you were answering my question. My mom hates C and thinks I'm crazy for learning it, lol. If I were in OK I would lend you a few of my books. |

lol, that's why I have compilers that points to the line I made a typo on so I can fix it.
I'm thinking that once I've mastered some more of the language of making a longer-term project, like a game or something. _________________ A path taken is paths forsaken.

Hmm how long you plan to spend learning? I'm going to major in Digital Media so mayhap by that point I can help with assets. I think I've nearly forgotten C, so not sure how much help I'd be there. |

I dunno. I bought a book for C++ today. I guess until I get bored and move on to something else. My experiences from my Comp. Programming I and II (in plain old C) have proven to be helpful since a lot of the syntax is similar.
I've just expanded my little C program to allow the user to decide if they want to convert the miles to kilometers or from kilometers to meters. It also checks and makes sure that the miles or kilometers are greater than zero. _________________ A path taken is paths forsaken.
