After the cheers died down, Bard waved a hand and the crowds dispersed through Lake-Town, partaking in various festivities, games of skill and chance, and food of rare quantity and quality. There was much music and dance and singing of songs, telling of tales and all manner of merrymaking. Bard himself seemed to sit in a high chair and speak with the Master of Lake-Town regarding matters of some import that sat far and away from the joys of the next three days.
The Dragontide festival was well underway. _________________ Delicious tea, or deadly poison?

Avina was overwhelmed by the noise and celebration. She never did care for festivals, too much noise. She weaved her way through the crowds and after several wrong turns, managed to find the house again. She walked in and sat down, exhausted from all the excitement of the day. |

The Elven quarter was silent save for the low rumble of the chorus of noise from the rest of Lake-Town. The Elves here were not celebrating with the Men and Dwarves, at least not in their same fashion. Some were singing Elvish songs of Bard's deed and others were working on detailing the shipments of wine and provision.
Caranthir's father noted his son's return. "How are you, my son? Did the day agree with you?" _________________ Delicious tea, or deadly poison?

"I see," he said, looking at a log for the week. He heard Avina slip in, "How did your young friend do? She seems particularly weary." _________________ Delicious tea, or deadly poison?

He nodded, an eyebrow quirked upward. "Did you not begin to teach her a mere three days ago? The Second Kindred learn quickly indeed." He closed the logbook. "I am retiring for the evening, my son. Goodnight."
And with that, he left Caranthir to himself. _________________ Delicious tea, or deadly poison?

Avina sat by the open window feeling the light breeze of the evening. She sighed, staring up at the stars. She was tired after everything that happened today. she wondered what was up with Caranthir...she hoped she hadn't made him mad. He was her only friend in town. |

Caranthir stared for a moment at the space his father had just vacated then retreated to his rooms, picked up one of the books he'd brought with him and began to read. _________________ A path taken is paths forsaken.

A sudden pounding of the door startled both awake occupants of the house. When no one answered, the hard knocking repeated. It continued until the door was answered. _________________ Delicious tea, or deadly poison?

Caranthir set down his book in irritation - he'd barely set down to read and now he was being interrupted.
This had better be good, he thought as he opened the door. _________________ A path taken is paths forsaken.

Avina awoke quickly. Unsure who would be pounding on the door at this hour, quickly donned her clothes. By the time shed done this and began down the stairs, Caranthir was already at the door.

A rather tall Dwarf, meaning he was slightly over five feet tall, stood in the doorway looking all rather put out. His disappointment at the door being opened by an Elf was not at all concealed either.
He took a deep breath and bowed deeply, "Farin, son of Barin, at your service." _________________ Delicious tea, or deadly poison?

"Did you need to speak to my father?" Caranthir asked. "What did you need, friend Dwarf?" this seemed like the sort of diplomatic thing his father would normally be handling, so he kept his voice neutral and polite. _________________ A path taken is paths forsaken.
